Bert H. Mosier, 81, a resident of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011 at Regency Place of Greenfield. He was born Dec. 2, 1929 in Rush County, Ind. to the late Bert H. and Ruth Maxine (Perkins) Mosier.

Bert served in the U.S Army as a medic during the Korean War and was awarded a combat medical badge, good conduct medal, Korean service medal, bronze service star with “V” device and a purple heart. He retired from Conrail Consolidated Railroad and prior to that worked for the Chrysler Assembly Plant. He was a member of the Commanders Club of the D.A.V. and a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 119. Dad never knew a stranger, he was a friend to all, his greatest love was his family and we will miss him greatly.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joann (Reed) Mosier of Greenfield; daughters, Linda Jo ( Jim) Floyd of Indianapolis, Cynthia Ann Mosier of Tucson, Ariz.; son, Steven Reed (Terri) Mosier of Indianapolis; granddaughter, Allison Joann Stevens; grandsons, Daniel and Larry Langford; three great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Mosier of Laurel, Ind.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Iva Benson Mosier.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, Greenfield. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery will full military graveside rites provided by the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
