Loren Matlock, 90, a life long resident of Greenfield, passed away Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at the Ellison House. He was born Feb. 11, 1920, in Greenfield to the late Charles H. and Katie G. (Jones) Matlock.

Loren graduated from Westland High School, was a farmer and a WWII veteran serving in the South Pacific in the Air Corp. He was a member of Trinity Park United Methodist Church and involved with the Farm Bureau organization. He was a former Director of the Hancock Co-op, former Director of the Soil & Water Conservation and a former member of the Hancock Co. Council.

He is survived by daughters, Myra K. Maxwell, Greenfield, and Nancy L. (Jerry) Rairdon, Indianapolis; brother, Charles G. Matlock, Greenfield; sisters, (Ina) Frances Wallace, Greenfield, and Janet Dobbins, Maxwell; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elenora N. Matlock, Oct. 2009; brothers, Nile Matlock, and George M. Matlock; sisters, (Alice) Adonis Smith and Helen Lucas.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. umtil 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, at Trinity Park United Methodist Church, with Rev. Mike Manning and Rev. Jerry Rairdon officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery with military graveside rites provided by Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard.
