Dale E. Young, 79, of Shirley, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. He was born Nov. 17, 1931, in Indianapolis, to the late Elbert and Fredia (Harmon) Young.
Dale retired from Best Lock Corporation and was a custodian at Eastern Hancock High School. He served in the National Guard, and was a member of the Shirley Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Barbara of Shirley; two sons, Mark (Naomi) Young of Markleville, Barry Young of Shirley; daughter, Rhonda Young of Shirley; one brother, Lloyd (Pat) of Greenfield; two sisters, Deloris Hollenbeck of Shelbyville, and Linda (Dave) Griffith of Shelbyville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan.14, 2011, at Condo and Son Funeral Home. Rev. Dan Jones will officiate. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.
