WASHINGTON — Authorities have arrested a man wanted in connection with the shooting of a Metrobus passenger in southeast Washington.
Metro Transit Police spokesman Dan Stessel says 20-year-old Bijon Brown was arrested Wednesday. Stessel says Brown is charged with unlawful possession of a weapon.
Brown is being questioned in the case in which someone fired at a Metrobus on Aug. 21. A passenger on the bus was wounded, and Metro temporarily suspended nighttime stops for buses on the road where the shooting occurred. Stessel says that Brown and the victim were friends.
Stessel says U.S. marshals and Metro Transit Police officers located Brown. He was found at the home of the victim's mother.
Stessel says Brown could face further charges. It is not immediately clear if Brown has an attorney.
