VIENNA — Austria striker Rubin Okotie will return to the national team for next month's Euro 2016 qualifier in Russia.
Okotie, who scored for the Group G leaders in a 1-0 win over Russia in November, missed Austria's friendly against Bosnia in March but has been included in the 25-man squad announced Tuesday by coach Marcel Koller.
Austria will be without injured midfielders David Alaba, Veli Kavlak, Christoph Leitgeb and Andreas Ulmer for the June 14 game in Moscow.
Graz defender Michael Madl and Rapid forward Philipp Schobesberger got their first call-up from Koller, who will reduce the squad to 23 players after the weekend.
Austria leads the group with 13 points from five games, ahead of Sweden with nine and Russia with eight. The group also includes Montenegro, Liechtenstein and Moldova.
The top two teams in each group and the best third-place team will qualify directly for the tournament in France, while the remaining third-place teams will advance to the playoffs.
Austria has never qualified for a European Championship but took part in the 2008 event as a co-host with Switzerland.
