ROCK HILL, South Carolina — Winthrop University has hired a consultant to help the school find a new president.
The Herald of Rock Hill reports (http://bit.ly/1mfCA8j ) that the board of Trustees on Wednesday selected R. William Funk and Associates of Dallas to lead the search for the school's 11th president.
The firm is the same on that recently helped Clemson University and the University of South Carolina recruit new leaders.
Winthrop's fundraising foundation will pay the firm's bill. Officials estimate the search will cost about $140,000, which includes consultant fees and some travel for job candidates.
Jamie Comstock Williamson was fired in June after one year on the job when the board determined she violated the university's nepotism policy, lied and was demeaning and rude.
