MACKINAC ISLAND, Michigan — Most boats have crossed the finish line in the 91st running of the Port Huron to Mackinac Island sailboat race.

About 250 boats started the Bell's Beer Bayview Mackinac Race on Saturday.

Race chairman Peter Wenzler says at least 220 boats were in Monday afternoon, with a couple dozen or fewer still out on the water.

Race officials say Arete finished first at 12:53 p.m. Sunday. Boats compete on two separate courses, and winners of the race organized by Detroit's Bayview Yacht Club are determined based on a handicapping system.

On Sunday morning, the U.S. Coast Guard rescued a 74-year-old man from a sailboat that was participating in the race after the man lost consciousness. He's reported in stable condition.
