CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina — Stephanie Mavunga had 25 points and 14 rebounds, Alisha Gray 15 and 15 and No. 16 North Carolina scored the last 14 points of the game to defeat Boston College 72-60 on Sunday.

Boston College took a 60-58 lead on Karima Gabriel's jumper with 7:34 to play but after that the Eagles went 0 of 12 from the field, including nine 3-pointers, missed two free throws and had three turnovers.

The Tar Heels (18-4, 5-3 ACC) didn't exactly bury the Eagles (9-12, 1-7). After N'Dea Bryant produced the 10th tie with a jumper and Jessica Washington nailed a 3 after a Bryant steal, North Carolina missed four shots and two free throws before Mavunga scored at the 3:58 mark. The Heels followed with consecutive turnovers but BC couldn't take advantage.

Bryant added 13 points for the Tar Heels, who shot 35 percent.

Kelly Hughes had 14 points and 11 rebounds while Emilee Daley and Nichole Boudreau had 13 apiece for Boston College.
