TULSA, Oklahoma — Prosecutors say three Tulsa police officers involved in the shooting death of a knife-wielding man will not be charged.

First assistant District Attorney Doug Drummond told the Tulsa World (http://bit.ly/1xaB9bX ) that the decision not to file charges was made Friday after a review of investigative reports into the Sept. 2 shooting that killed 45-year-old Mark Allen Kelley. Drummond declined further comment.

Police say Kelley had first stabbed himself before he approached the officers and ignored orders to drop the knife.

Police say officers Amy Jenson, Mitchell Franklin and Rashena Smith then fired a combined 18 times at Kelley and struck him with multiple shots. Police say it's not clear whether Kelley died of the gunshot wounds or of self-inflicted knife wounds.
