WELLS BRANCH, Texas — Texas authorities say police fatally shot a bank robbery suspect who opened fire on officers and FBI agents.

Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo says FBI agents and officers with the Central Texas Violent Crimes Task Force attempted to serve an arrest warrant Monday night. He says six officers and agents pulled up behind the man's car before he jumped out and started firing.

Acevedo says two Austin officers and one Round Rock officer shot the man, later identified as 24-year-old Tyler Caraway. He was taken to an area hospital where he later died.

No other injuries were reported.

The Travis County Sheriff's Office is the lead investigating agency.
