CHARLESTON, South Carolina — Christian Reyes ran for 163 yards and a touchdown, and Charleston Southern beat Gardner-Webb 44-14 on Saturday.

Austin Brown was 12 of 21 for 239 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions, and Chris Theodore added five catches for 114 yards for Charleston Southern (7-3, 2-2 Big South) which scored 27 points in the first quarter and extended to 34-0 by halftime.

After Ben Robinson's 27-yard touchdown run opened the scoring, the Buccaneers scored twice more after intercepting Lucas Beatty on consecutive possessions. Dylan Black returned the second interception 37 yards to make it 20-0 with 9:29 to play in the first quarter.

Beatty finished 16 of 30 for 189 yards and had two touchdown passes in the third quarter to bring Gardner-Webb (4-6, 0-3) within 34-14. But he had another pass intercepted and returned for a touchdown by CSU's Davion Anderson in the fourth.
