GLOSTER, Mississippi — Aldermen in the Amite County town of Gloster have fired the police chief who had been suspended without pay, suspended the current interim chief without pay, and promoted an officer to interim chief.
The Enterprise-Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1EQBTWe) the board voted Friday to terminate chief Dandridge Brooks and suspended interim Terry?Boss.
The actions came after the board met in executive session to discuss personnel matters.
This past June, town aldermen placed Brooks on administrative leave without pay pending a Mississippi Bureau of Investigation probe into allegations of sexual harassment.
After meeting with a female officer, aldermen placed Boss on administrative leave without pay.
Aldermen have voted to advertise for applications for police chief and named longtime officer Tyrone Green as interim chief.
