COLUMBUS, Ohio — Police say two people have been taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds after a verbal altercation became physical in Columbus and shots were fired.

Authorities say the dispute between neighbors began in front of a house on Renwood Place. After it became physical, several people produced handguns and shots were fired into the crowd. It happened around 7 p.m. Sunday.

A woman was shot twice in the left arm and a man was shot once in his left arm. Both are in stable condition at a local hospital.

Police say a suspect fled after the shooting. Investigators are questioning two people of interest.
