HONOLULU — One person has been found dead after a residential fire on Hawaii's Big Island.

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser (http://is.gd/Yo68JN ) reports firefighters arrived at the Captain Cook home after receiving the alarm at about 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Firefighters found the bedrooms and hallway of the single-story Lehua Lane home on fire.

The deceased person was found during the initial search of the home. Another resident was away at the time.

The fire was extinguished by 8:40 p.m. Wednesday and its cause is under investigation.
