BYERS, Colorado — Hail and standing water led to a brief closure of Interstate 70 near Byers on Sunday.

The Colorado Department of Transportation posted the closure around 6 a.m. and reopened the highway a half an hour later.

The National Weather Service issued small stream flood advisories for counties along the Front Range.

Forecasters also issued winter storm warnings for the Colorado mountains, with up to 16 inches of snow possible in some areas through Monday.
