    GREENWOOD, Mississippi — Marcus Romain scored 20 of his 25 points in the second half and grabbed 10 rebounds to help Mississippi Valley State beat Grambling State 72-59 on Monday night.

    Isaac Williams chipped in 17 points for the Delta Devils (4-19, 4-5 Southwestern Athletic Conference). Romain's free throws with 9:10 left gave Mississippi Valley State a double-digit lead for good at 53-42.

    Nigel Ribeiro led the Tigers (6-15, 3-6) with 14 points. Deonte Hearns and Ervin Mitchell added 11 points each for Grambling State, which had its only lead at 22-21 in the first half.

    Romain had just two points before his 3-point play capped the Delta Devils 5-0 run to end the first half ahead 33-26.

    MVSU kept the momentum going with a 6-0 run to open the second, and Romain made 8 of 9 shots from the field after the break.
