FLORHAM PARK, New Jersey — Zoetis Inc. (ZTS) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $126 million.
The Florham Park, New Jersey-based company said it had profit of 25 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and costs related to mergers and acquisitions, were 40 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 36 cents per share.
The animal health company posted revenue of $1.32 billion in the period.
For the year, the company reported profit of $583 million, or $1.16 per share. Revenue was reported as $4.79 billion.
Zoetis expects full-year earnings in the range of $1.61 to $1.68 per share, with revenue in the range of $4.8 billion to $4.9 billion.
Zoetis shares have increased 2 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has stayed nearly flat. The stock has risen 43 percent in the last 12 months.
