INDIANAPOLIS — Dense fog in parts of central and southern Indiana has caused some school districts to delay their openings.

The National Weather Service issued an advisory that patchy dense fog limiting visibility to less than a quarter mile was most likely early Wednesday in a stretch from around Vincennes east to the Columbus area. That fog is expected to lift by midmorning.

A handful of school districts announced two-hour opening delays.
