BATON ROUGE, Louisiana — Louisiana's 15 riverboats, four racetrack slots casinos and Harrah's land-based casino brought in nearly $214.1 million in August, 1.7 percent less than the $217.8 million the gambling halls won the year before.
State police released the August figures Thursday.
Baton Rouge's riverboat casinos brought in 4.3 percent less in August than they did the year before, as all three properties reported drops in revenue.
The Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/1V00Dsh) winnings in the New Orleans casino market dropped by 8.5 percent in August when compared with the year before.
Lake Charles saw its winning go up by 21.5 percent, thanks to the addition of Golden Nugget.
The Shreveport-Bossier City market dropped 15.7 in August.
