DETROIT — Juwan Howard Jr. scored 26 points, grabbed five rebounds and had six assists to lead Detroit over Milwaukee 83-67 on Sunday.

Paris Bass had 14 points and Anton Wilson added 12 as the Titans (7-9, 1-1 Horizon Conference) shot 51 percent from the floor and made 6 of 17 from beyond the arc. Detroit outrebounded Milwaukee 38-23.

Matt Tiby had 20 points and eight boards to pace the Panthers (5-11, 0-2). Steve McWhorter and JeVon Lyle scored 12 points apiece while Akeem Springs had 11.

Detroit broke a 15-all tie midway through the first half with a 13-0 run — including a Chris Jenkins 3-pointer — and led 37-27 at the break.

An 8-0 spurt just after intermission pushed the lead to 47-29 and Detroit was able to coast to the victory.
