LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas — Police in Little Rock say charges against a 27-year-old woman accused of stabbing her ex-boyfriend will be upgraded following the victim's death.

Officer Richard Hilgeman of the Little Rock Police Department said in a statement Saturday that 28-year-old Charles Blair of Little Rock died on Friday.

Authorities say officers responded to reports of a disturbance at a residence on Tuesday and found Blair lying on the ground bleeding. Blair was transported to a hospital in critical condition.

Officers say Kassie Jackson of Little Rock allegedly cut Blair several times and was still in possession of the knife when officers confronted her. Authorities say Jackson was charged with one count of first-degree battery but the charge will be upgraded following Blair's death.

The death is Little Rock's second homicide of 2016.
