PASCAGOULA, Mississippi — A Gautier man has been sentenced to 18 years in prison and 12 under post-release supervision after pleading guilty to exploiting a child and touching a child for lustful purposes.
The Mississippi Press reports (http://bit.ly/1tdqcJf ) that Judge Kathy King Jackson sentenced Daniel Adam Phillips to 30 years on the exploitation charge, with the first 18 in prison. At the same time, he will be serving a 15-year sentence for lustful touching.
The charges stemmed from child pornographic images found on his phone in 2012 and the abuse of a family acquaintance at an apartment playground last year.
Phillips was ordered to pay court costs, $3,000 in fines, $100 to the Crime Victim's Compensation Fund and $1000 to the Mississippi Children's Trust Fund.
