AUGUSTA, Georgia — Richmond County fire officials are investigating a fire that claimed the life of a 76-year-old woman.

The Richmond County Coroner's Office said the blaze was reported about 7 a.m. Sunday on Windsor Spring Road, where sheriff's deputies and firefighters found a body in a bedroom.

Authorities said Delores Ann Strickland of Hephzibah was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Augusta Chronicle reports (http://bit.ly/1lKBLBo) that an autopsy will be conducted at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's crime lab in Atlanta this week.
