Single-car crash off of New York's Interstate Highway 81 leaves 2 teens dead, another injured

HOMER, New York — New York State Police say two teenagers were killed and a third was injured after their car rolled over on Interstate Highway 81 in a town 23 miles south of Syracuse.

Troopers said that 17-year-old Andrea Czimmer was behind the wheel Friday night when she lost control in the passing lane. They said witnesses then saw the car overturn several times.

Authorities say Czimmer suffered head and neck injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Emergency responders performed CPR on back-seat passenger Alexis Porter and transported her by emergency flight to Upstate University Hospital where the 17-year-old was pronounced dead.

Front seat passenger Michael Conlon is in stable condition. Troopers say the 18-year-old suffered rib and internal injuries.

Troopers say the investigation is ongoing.
