Louisiana's Bayou Rum maker signs national distribution agreement with Stoli Group

LACASSINE, Louisiana — Bayou Rum maker Louisiana Spirits LLC has signed a long-term national distribution agreement with New York-based Stoli Group USA LLC.

Company officials say Stoli Group, the North American subsidiary of vodka maker SPI Group, will become the exclusive national distributor as of Jan. 1, 2016, for Bayou Select Rum, Bayou Silver, Bayou Spiced and Bayou Satsuma Rum Liqueur.

The Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/1MYYO7X) the rum is handcrafted from Louisiana sugar cane and distilled and bottled at a distillery in Lacassine (lah-kuh-SEEN'), east of Lake Charles.

The agreement takes the rums beyond the borders of Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Maryland, Washington D.C. and Georgia.

The companies say he national agreement also is a step toward growing the Bayou Rum brand internationally in the future.
