ALLEN, Texas — A contractor and architectural firm have paid a North Texas school district $2.5 million to cover losses incurred after its $60 million football stadium had to be closed last year because of structural cracks and other problems.

The Dallas Morning News ( ) reports Allen Independent School District Superintendent Lance Hindt told the school board Monday the district hasn't had to pay "a penny."

The payment by Pogue Construction and PBK Architects covers the loss of rental revenue, attorneys fees and the work of the two firms the district hired to oversee repairs.

Costs to repair structural problems aren't covered in that figure. Last fall, PBK and Pogue agreed to pay for the work without billing the district.

Officials say the stadium will be ready for graduation June 5.
