PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island — More single-family homes sold in Rhode Island last year than any year since 2004.

The Rhode Island Association of Realtors announced on Wednesday that 9,782 single-family homes were sold in the state in 2015. The median sales price of $225,000 was the highest since 2008.

The median price rose 5 percent and sales volume rose 10 percent from 2014.

Arthur Yatsko, president of the group, says they're seeing moderate and steady gains. He says home prices still haven't reached the peaks seen in 2005.

Condo sales grew 6 percent in 2015, and median price grew 3 percent to $200,000.

Sales of multi-family homes grew 14 percent, and the median price was up 15 percent to $168,000.
