BATON ROUGE, Louisiana — Starting Monday, lane closures will be in place on the eastbound side of the Mississippi River Bridge in Natchez, Mississippi and Vidalia, Louisiana for the placement of concrete barriers.
A week later, the westbound side of the US 84 Mississippi River Bridge will be closed for approximately seven weeks. During that time, state transportation officials say traffic will be placed head-to-head on the eastbound bridge while repairs are being made to the westbound bridge.
Officials say no wide loads over 14 feet will be allowed on the eastbound side during the westbound closure.
The bridge links Adams County, Mississippi and Concordia Parish, Louisiana.
