BUFFALO, New York — Justin Moss scored 25 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Buffalo past Akron 67-62 on Tuesday, breaking a tie with the Zips for third place in the Mid-American Conference East Division.
Trailing 56-54 with 2:44 remaining, Buffalo (18-9, 9-6) ripped off 10 straight points, highlighted by a Moss dunk, to take an eight point lead and put the game away.
The loss is the fourth straight for the Zips, their first ever four game losing streak under coach Keith Dambrot, who took over in 2004.
Shannon Evans added 13 points for the Bulls, who won despite being outshot by Akron, 43.1 percent to 33.3 percent.
Akron was playing its first game without Noah Robotham, who tore his ACL Saturday against Miami (Ohio).
