CHARLESTON, West Virginia — A deadline is looming for small businesses and other organizations in two counties to seek federal disaster loans for drought-related losses.

The U.S. Small Business Administration says the filing deadline for federal economic injury loans is Sept. 28. The loans are available in Greenbrier and Pocahontas counties as a result of drought from Aug. 22, 2014, through Oct. 15, 2014.

Small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small aquaculture businesses and private can apply for loans to pay fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable and other expenses that they could have paid if the disaster hadn't occurred.
