GROVELAND, Massachusetts — A woman on drugs drove her car into a house on New Year's Eve.

Police say Krystyna Ewart, 46, of Haverhill, crashed into a fire hydrant on School Street at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, continued through a fence, and crashed into the foundation of a house. Ewart was uninjured, as were occupants of the house, which police said was damaged but not destroyed.

Police found Ewart speaking with slurred speech and moving unsteadily. She failed several field sobriety tests and was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs -- her second such offense -- as well as other driving violations.

She was held without bail overnight and will likely be arraigned Friday in Haverhill District Court.
