MEMPHIS, Tennessee — Police say a Memphis officer has been relieved of duty after he was involved in a fight with other men in a bar parking lot.

Police said Tuesday that officers were called to a TJ Mulligan's in Memphis in the early-morning hours of Dec. 24. Officers located three men who said they were involved in a fight in the parking lot with three other men.

After the fight, the suspects fled the scene in a black Ford Taurus. Police said a witness was able to get a tag number.

Police then charged three men with aggravated assault and simple assault, including 36-year-old Craig Brewer, a Memphis police officer who was off-duty when the fight occurred.

Brewer has been employed with the department since October 2010.
