PHOENIX — Authorities have arrested a man in connection with the death of his business associate in Phoenix.
Phoenix police say Juan Luis Zermeno is being held on suspicion of first-degree murder, first-degree burglary, theft and trafficking in stolen property.
He allegedly was involved in a dispute with 38-year-old Jesus Cortez over business matters.
They say the 39-year-old Zermeno was arrested without incident Friday after allegedly trying to sell Cortez's two vehicles to another associate.
Police believe Zermeno stole the vehicles from Cortez's residence at the time of the homicide.
They say Cortez was found dead inside his home Wednesday afternoon after officers conducted a welfare check.
Family members reported that they hadn't seen or heard from their father in days.
Police say Cortez's body was found with obvious signs of trauma.
