OLYMPIA, Washington — More than two dozen state troopers have been sworn in at a ceremony at the Washington Capitol.

The 25 graduates of the Washington State Patrol Academy were sworn in by Washington State Supreme Court Associate Chief Justice Charles Johnson Thursday and were presented their commission cards by Governor Jay Inslee and Patrol Chief John R. Batiste.

Each trooper cadet completed more than 1,000 hours of training. The Patrol Academy graduates three cadet classes — about 100 to 120 new troopers — each biennium.
