PELHAM, New Hampshire — Police say a bomb squad has safely removed a live grenade from a house in Pelham.
Authorities say a man found the grenade Sunday evening while he was cleaning out his mother's basement.
The man told police he had discovered a canister that looked like one that would be used to hold grenades. When he opened it, he says he found a grenade with its pin pulled halfway out.
WMUR-TV (http://bit.ly/1qT6Ao9) reports police shut down a nearby intersection and called in the Nashua Bomb Squad to safely remove the grenade.
They say it will be detonated later.
