SANTA CLARA, California — Brandon Clark made two free throws with 11 seconds left and finished with 29 points in Santa Clara's 65-62 victory over Loyola Marymount on Thursday night.
Jared Brownridge gave Santa Clara (10-10, 4-4 West Coast Conference) the lead for good at 63-60 on a 3-pointer with 1:13 left. Evan Payne's jumper pulled LMU (5-15, 1-7) within 63-62 with 51 seconds.
Payne missed a layup with 12 seconds left and Nate Kratch secured the rebound before Clark's free throws.
Brownridge was 6 of 10 from 3-point range with 20 points and Kratch grabbed 11 boards. The Broncos took control with a 9-0 run late in the first half and led until the Lions tied it at 51-all midway through the second. The Lions tied three more times but never went in front.
