CONYERS, Georgia — Authorities are searching for a Rockdale County inmate who they say walked away from a job site and stole a construction truck to make his escape.

Sheriff's officials say it happened Wednesday at Latex Construction in Conyers.

Authorities say the inmate, 33-year-old Timothy Allen Ward, was arrested June 25. Jail records show that he was being held on numerous charges, including criminal trespass, false statements, identity fraud, theft and possession of drug-related objects.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (http://on-ajc.com/1HsSorM) that the stolen truck is a 1997 white, extended-bed Chevrolet C2500 with Latex Construction logos on the side and a Georgia tag.

Ward is a white male, 5-feet-6 inches tall, weighs 140 pounds and has brown hair with a receding hairline. He was last seen wearing a white shirt with pink shorts.
