CHARLOTTE, North Carolina — Police in Charlotte have arrested a suspect in the shooting death of a man in September.
Police told local media that 18-year-old Quincy Dushawn McWaine of Charlotte has been charged with murder and armed robbery in the shooting death of 30-year-old Elias Perez.
Investigators said Perez was robbed and shot Sept. 6.
Officers did not say Tuesday what led to McWaine's arrest. Jail records show McWaine was already in jail on unrelated charges that including breaking and entering, larceny and conspiracy.
It was not clear if he has a lawyer.
Five people were shot to death over the Labor Day weekend in Charlotte. Police have not said if Perez's shooting was related to the other deaths.
