DETROIT — Police in Detroit are investigating separate robberies in which two couples were forced behind buildings where the women were sexually assaulted.
Deputy Chief Charles Fitzgerald tells reporters that a group of six men approached a 22-year-old man and 21-year-old woman late Thursday night on the city's northwest side.
The victims were robbed at gunpoint and forced to take off their clothing. The woman was sexually assaulted.
The second attack was less than two hours later on a 21-year-old man and 19-year-old woman. That woman also was sexually assaulted.
Police believe four men were involved in the second attack.
