OSLO, Norway — Norwegian teenager Jarl Magnus Riiber won his first Nordic combined World Cup on Saturday in front of his home crowd.

The 18-year-old's ski jump of 130 meters gave him what proved to be an unassailable lead of 1 minute, 10 seconds to take into the 10-kilometer cross-country race.

Japan's Akito Watabe finished 16 seconds behind Riiber but ahead of overall leader Eric Frenzel, who was unable to secure his fourth straight World Cup victory.

Riiber called his victory in foggy conditions in the Norwegian capital a "perfect day."

Frenzel had managed to overhaul a 56-second gap to win the last meet in Seefeld, Austria. The German still leads the standings with 731 points, 97 ahead of Watabe.

Fabian Riessle of Germany is third with 603 points.
