PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh police are investigating shootings Monday that left two men hospitalized.

Police say a 23-year-old man was wounded in the thigh and torso while standing outside his car around 9:30 p.m. in the city's Upper Hill District.

A 24-year-old man and 16-year-old boy inside the vehicle were not harmed. The 16-year-old was arrested on heroin possession charges.

Police say the passengers reported a man approaching the car and shooting the driver. He's listed in serious but stable condition at UPMC Presbyterian.

About 10 minutes later, an 18-year-old man was wounded in the upper thigh and grazed in the knee in the city's Mt. Washington section.

He's listed in stable condition at UPMC Mercy.
