BOSTON — Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh says the latest snow storm has left one person dead, apparently due to a heart attack while shoveling snow.
The Boston Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1JmMxeI ) that he urged residents Monday to remain patient as snow continues to mount.
He says Boston has had 7 1/2 feet of snow since Jan. 23. It's closing in on the record of 107.6 inches, or nearly 9 feet, set during the winter of 1995-96.
The mayor said the forecast for Tuesday is for 3 inches to 4 inches with a potentially significant storm next weekend.
He said the city's parking ban will remain in effect until further notice.
Referring to reports of an unusual form of recreation, Walsh advised people to not jump from windows into snow piles. He called it foolish.
