FOXBOROUGH, Massachusetts — Kelyn Rowe broke a tie in the 65th minute and the New England Revolution beat the New York Red Bulls 2-1 on Wednesday night to move into first place in the Eastern Conference.

New England (13-9-7) won its sixth straight game, matching a club record set in 2005. New York (13-8-6) lost for only the second time in its last 10 matches.

Diego Fagundez scored in his fourth straight game for New England in the second minute. Juan Agudelo one-touched a free kick into open space and Fagundez ran past the defense to send it home. In the second half, Scott Caldwell lofted a loose ball in front of the net and the uncovered Rowe volleyed it home.

Mike Grella tied it at 1 in the sixth minute for New York. Kemar Lawrence's cross was deflected off the crossbar by Jose Goncalves and Grella ran on the loose ball for a well-placed finish.
