SANTA MONICA, California — A man wanted in a murder investigation who was taken into custody after an hours-long standoff in Santa Monica is being held on $1 million bail.
Los Angeles County sheriff's officials on Sunday identified the suspect as 28-year-old David Carrillo, who was wanted in connection with a stabbing death in South LA this month. Authorities haven't released the victim's name.
Carrillo was arrested Saturday evening after a SWAT team fired tear gas and sent canines into the apartment unit where he was holed up for most of the day.
Carrillo is due in court Tuesday.
It isn't immediately known if he has a lawyer.
