HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, New Jersey — State police have identified the two people killed when their vehicle collided with a car and caught fire on the Atlantic City Expressway.

The crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. Friday on a westbound stretch of the highway in Hamilton Township. Authorities say a vehicle driven by 35-year-old Sean McBride, of Egg Harbor Township, collided with a car that had stopped on the right shoulder.

McBride's vehicle caught fire, and he and 31-year-old Gabrielle Lynnes, of Upper Township, were briefly trapped inside. Both died a short time later at a hospital.

The driver of the other car, 38-year-old Scott Lerario of Linwood, was being treated at a hospital for undisclosed injuries. Authorities say he had stopped his car to check for a possible flat tire.
