MADISON, Wisconsin — Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke says she is disappointed with news that prosecutors believe Gov. Scott Walker was part of a national criminal scheme to break campaign finance laws during recalls in 2011 and 2012.

Burke spoke Friday with WISN-TV for an interview to air on Sunday. Burke's campaign released her comments.

Burke says that while she's disappointed, she will not make the allegations against Walker a focus of her campaign. She did not speak publicly about the issue Thursday when the news broke.

Burke says she believes the investigation should run its course but her campaign will be focused on her own proposals and ideas.

She faces a primary challenge from state Rep. Brett Hulsey, who is mounting a longshot bid to defeat the better-funded Burke.
