SANTA CLARA, California — The 49ers signed running back Travaris Cadet on Tuesday and released running back Pierre Thomas, who played sparingly in San Francisco's victory over Atlanta after signing early last week.
Cadet appeared in one game this season for the New England Patriots before being released on Sept. 29. He had originally signed as an undrafted free agent in 2012 with the New Orleans Saints, where he appeared in 41 games over three seasons.
Thomas signed with the 49ers on Nov. 3. He had four carries for 12 yards against Atlanta, his only game with the team.
