ALVARADO, Texas — Authorities say at least three people have been killed — two of them children — in a North Texas traffic wreck where it appears a pickup truck was travelling on the wrong side of a four-lane highway.
Police in Alvarado say the pickup was on U.S. Highway 67 when it collided with a car early Sunday.
The driver of the car and two of the three children who were passengers were killed. The third child has been taken by helicopter to a hospital.
The pickup's driver also has been hospitalized.
Names of those involved have not been immediately released and the wreck remains under investigation. The highway is a four-lane divided roadway at the crash site.
Alvarado is in Johnson County about 10 miles south of Fort Worth.
