GULFPORT, Mississippi — A man found living in the United States illegally has been sentenced for using someone else's Social Security number to buy a car from a Gulfport dealership.

The Sun Herald reports ( 42-year-old Pedro Vasquez-Quintero received credit for time served and was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement for deportation proceedings.

He had been arrested after his indictment was filed Oct. 21.

He pleaded guilty to Social Security fraud April 28.

As part of his plea agreement, U.S. District Judge Sul Ozerden required him to pay off a car he had bought from a Toyota dealership in Gulfport and to pay off credit he had established in someone else's name.

Court papers show he also had to sell a home he owned in Gulfport.

He was sentenced July 28.
