GREENVILLE, Delaware — A crash involving a school bus carrying students from the Delaware Military Academy left three people injured in Greenville.

Emergency personnel were called to the scene Wednesday afternoon at Kennett Pike and Sunnyside Road. New Castle County authorities say the school bus was carrying nine children, but no one on the bus was injured.

The bus apparently struck the back of a vehicle, which led to a chain reaction involving two more vehicles.

Rescuers say two people were taken to area hospitals. A 25-year-old woman suffered head injuries and was in serious condition. A 72-year-old man had minor injuries and was in stable condition. One injured person remained at the scene.

Delaware State Police say the bus driver was cited for following too closely.
